Social Responsibility
A Better Future - On and Offline
At Calico, our commitment to doing good extends beyond the code we generate. We believe that true digital innovation must be grounded in ethical practice, fair treatment of people, and respect for our planet.
Our Social Responsibility framework guides how we operate every day, focusing on the human, ethical, and environmental impact of our business.

Ethical and Fair Work
We build digital products with integrity. We have a zero-tolerance stance toward modern slavery, human trafficking, and forced labor across all of our operations and professional affiliations.
We sustain partnerships and collaborations with industry professionals who share similar values. We treat all our stakeholders and associates with the utmost respect and uphold fair and ethical processes throughout our workings.
Environmental Responsibility
Our ongoing commitment to reducing Calico's ecological footprint remains front of mind within our workplace and across all of our activities. We continuously endeavor to minimise our impact by:
- Minimising workplace waste: actively reducing and managing waste across our operations
- Providing resources: Equipping our staff with appropriate tools and education to reduce their everyday environmental impact
- Continuous monitoring: Reviewing our operational procedures regularly to look for opportunities to decrease our carbon footprint.
- Staying informed: Keeping ourselves educated on the latest sustainability best practices to ensure we are always contributing to a greener planet.

Carbon Neutrality and Offsets
To balance the energy required to power our digital work, Calico offsets emissions generated by our business operations using a mix of Greenpower and Verified Carbon Standard offsets.
Our carbon offsets are supplied by Climate Friendly, helping to fund renewable energy and energy efficiency projects that address the root causes of climate change. Our ultimate goal remains achieving formal government certification of carbon-neutral business operations against the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS).
